GALLE: Pakistan still require 182 more runs when they will resume their first innings at the Galle International Stadium on Saturday to level the score Sri Lanka earlier made in their first innings.

In their first innings, Pakistan have scored 118 runs for the loss of five wickets with middle-order batsman Younis Khan as top scorer with 47 runs.

Except Younis Khan, no Pakistani batsman have so far been able to score worth mentioning runs as the Captain Misbah-ul-Haq remained the second highest scorer for Pakistan with 20 runs only.

When the third day play ended on Friday, Asad Shafiq and wicketkeeper-batsman Sarfaraz Ahmed were at the crease with 14 and 15 runs respectively. The Sri Lankan bowler KTGD Prasad has picked up two wickets so far.

Earlier, Sri Lanka resumed their first innings at 178 runs for 3 and managed to put a total of 300 runs on the scoreboard before they were all out. Their opening batsman Jayan Kaushal Silva scored 125 runs.

While from Pakistan, fast bowler Wahab Riaz and left arm spinner Zulfiqar Babar took three wickets each.

The first day of the match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka was washed out due to rain on Wednesday. Later it was decided that play on remaining four days would start 15 minutes before time and the middle session would be extended by another 15 minutes daily.
