Pakistan says India’s request of creating violence-free environment is ‘ironical’

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Prime Minister’s Adviser on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz said that the India’s request to Pakistan to create an environment free of violence sounds ironical.

His remarks came in response to a recent statement by the Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swara on Pakistan-India relations.

The adviser said that India keeps violating ceasefire at the Line of Control (LoC) & the Working Boundary, indulges in worst human rights violations against helpless Kashmiris in Indian occupied Kashmir and undertakes subversive activities in Pakistan. But despite that it is asking Pakistan to create an environment free of violence only sounds ironical.

Sartaj Aziz said that Pakistan’s policy all along has been that all outstanding disputes particularly the dispute of Jammu & Kashmir should be resolved through dialogue.

“Pakistan believes in a sustained, comprehensive and result-oriented,” he said.

The adviser also referred to the recent articulation of Indian policy by the Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar which confirmed Pakistan’s apprehensions regarding Indian involvement in terrorism in Pakistan.
