ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Saudi Foreign Minister Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir has said that his country’s relations with Pakistan are based on strong foundations and are destined to grow from strength to strength.
“Saudi Arabia and Pakistan enjoy close brotherly and strategic relations,” Jubeir said in a meeting with the Prime Minister’s Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz on the side lines of the 42nd Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers meeting in Kuwait.
During the meeting, the two leaders discussed issues related to bilateral relations, regional situation and the crisis in Yemen.
Jubeir underlined the need for further enhancing trade and investment between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. He also expressed deep appreciation for the valuable contribution of the more than two million Pakistanis to the development of Saudi Arabia.
In his remarks, the advisor reiterated Pakistan’s unequivocal support and strong commitment to the security and territorial integrity of Saudi Arabia and protection of the two holy Mosques
The advisor briefed his Saudi counterpart on Pakistan’s efforts to engage the regional countries to resolve the Yemen crisis in a peaceful manner.
Sartaj Aziz also briefed the Saudi foreign minister on the successful outcome of the military operation Zarb-e-Azb and the economic turnaround achieved by Pakistan.
