ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: President Mamnoon Hussain has urged Muslim countries to forge cooperation in all fields to promote unity and harmony in ranks of the Ummah.   

In a meeting with the Uzbek ambassador to Pakistan Pervez M Aliev who paid a farewell call on him in Islamabad on Thursday, the president said that the Islamic world will have to send a vivid message to the global community that Muslims are peaceful and condemn terrorism at every level.

“Pakistan attaches special significance to its relations with Uzbekistan,” President Mamnoon Hussain also said to the Uzbek envoy.

The president also emphasized the need for increasing cooperation between Pakistan and Uzbekistan in energy and infrastructure and enhancing people-to-people contacts.

Separately, the Assistant Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Muhammad Naeem Khan also called on President Mamnoon Hussain in Islamabad.

During the meeting, the president said that the Islamic world should focus on science and technology to address contemporary challenges effectively.
