Nawaz-led Pakistani delegation in Kabul to meet Afghan leadership

KABUL, Afghanistan: A high-level Pakistani delegation led by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif reached Kabul on Tuesday morning for one-day official visit at the invitation of the Afghan President Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai.

Upon the arrival in Kabul, the Afghan Foreign Minister Afghanistan Salahuddin Rabbani and Minister of Finance Eklil Hakimi received the Pakistani delegation.

The prime minister was accompanied by Adviser to the Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Syed Tariq Fatemi, Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and senior officials.

During the visit, the prime minister will holds talks with the Afghan president, Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah and delegation-level talks with the Afghan side.

Earlier on Monday, the prime minister presided over a high-level meeting in Islamabad to discuss all dimensions of Pakistan-Afghan relations.

The meeting reiterated to consolidate and further improve bilateral relations between the two neighboring and brotherly countries.
