Tribal elder among five killed in Bajaur blast

PESHAWAR, Pakistan: A roadside bomb hit a car in Mamond tehil of the Bajaur tribal region on Monday morning that left five persons including a pro government tribal elder dead.

The sources said that the car carrying five persons including tribal elder Malak Muhammad Jan was on its way to the Har area from the Bar Kamar area but in the meantime, a remote-controlled improvised explosive device (IED) blast occurred.

Resultantly, all the five persons in the car lost their lives while the vehicle was also severely damaged.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif strongly condemned the IED blast in Bajaur agency and expressed condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the incident.

The prime minister reiterated the resolve that all steps would be taken to eliminate terrorism and extremism from the country.

KPK police arrest 369 suspects

Separately, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police have arrested 369 suspects from different areas of the province in its continued operation against criminals and anti-social elements under the anti-terror national action plan.

The police also arrested 30 Afghan nationals who were living in the province without legal documents. The police also recovered arms and ammunition from their possession.
