Nestlé joins the coalition supporting Digital Youth Summit 2015

PESHAWAR/ISLAMABAD: Nestlé Pakistan has come onboard as official sponsor of the Digital Youth Summit 2015 – www.digitalyouthsummit.pk, a leading tech conference and startup expo co-organized by the Information Technology Board of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Peshawar 2.0 and the World Bank.

The event will bring to Peshawar, between May 7 and May 9, tech entrepreneurs and business experts from Pakistan and all over the world.

Participants will discuss, for three days, various aspects of tech entrepreneurship, innovation and freelancing. The event which targets tech entrepreneurs, policy makers and e-lancers, will also include an Expo open to the general public allowing a broader audience to interact with startups from Pakistan, and join free breakout sessions to learn about coding, freelancing, developing apps, using social media for marketing and much more.

Nestlé believes in both the potential that the dynamism of youth offers and the importance of harnessing digital resources. The Digital Youth Summit will help channel both and that is why we have decided to work once again with the KP IT Board, Peshawar 2.0 and the World Bank”, said Magdi Batato, Managing Director of Nestlé. “Companies are now part of a dynamic ecosystem. Products alone don’t guarantee competitive advantage anymore; you have to deliver, with the help of technological advances, superior services and experiences to the customer and at the same time drive better operational productivity internally.”

The Digital Acceleration team of Nestlé Pakistan will conduct breakout sessions on social media marketing and will sponsor a special session on Angel Investment for selected business leaders, to encourage more representatives of the private sector to support the youth of our country in their entrepreneurial endeavors.

We are honored to count upon the support of a company like Nestlé,” declared Farah Hamid KhanSecretary ST & IT and Managing Director KP IT Board. “The efforts of the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Peshawar 2.0 and the World Bank to leverage technology for income generating opportunities for youth will be more effective with the support of a partner like Nestlé; their participation is an example of what the private sector can do for social development, producing tech savvy youth and developing KP into an IT hub” she added.

Nestlé joins the coalition of sponsors that include the International Financial Corporation (IFC), Microsoft, Karandaaz Pakistan and The Express Tribune as Media Partner, among others.
