QUETTA, Pakistan: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif has warned foreign states and intelligence agencies against trying to destabilize Pakistan by supporting terrorists in Balochistan.

“Will defeat them comprehensively,” the COAS said when he visited the Southern Command Headquarters in Quetta on Wednesday.

“We will unearth terrorists, their abettors, sympathizers and financers. He said none of them will find any place in the country to hide. We will go to any length for writ of state,” the COAS said as wrote by the Director General Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Asim Saleem Bajwa in a series of tweets.

During his day-long visit to Quetta, the COAS also held meetings with the Balochistan Governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai, the Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik and the Commander of Southern Command Lt General Nasir Khan Janjua.

General Raheel Sharif also visited Frontier Corps (FC) Headquarters and reviewed security situation in the province. He also reviewed the progress of FC operation against terrorists.

On April 11, unknown assailants riding motorcycles opened fire indiscriminately on a labourers’ camp near Turbat that left at least 20 construction workers dead and three others injured.

The COAS expressed grief on brutal killing of poor and innocent labourers by the terrorists in Turbat, and vowed to support the Balochistan government in eliminating terrorists.

The army chief commended law enforcement agencies and the FC for noticeable law and order improvement. He vowed to stand by people of Balochistan to bring peace and prosperity. He further said that the Frontier Works Organization (FWO) will continue working on development projects.

Moreover, the army chief highlighted security challenges of vast Balochistan, and emphasized the need to adopt integrated approach by civil and military leadership, law enforcers for peaceful Balochistan.

Separately, the army chief also held a meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad and discussed matters related to Balochistan.
