MOSCOW: Russia has offered support in investigation about reported use of chemical weapons in Syrian war by anti-government forces.

The offer was announced by official spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexander Lukashevich during a briefing here at Moscow on Thursday.
“If such a commission would be formed, Russia is pleased to offer its expertise to find out use of chemical weapons in Syrian war”, said Lukashevich.
It may be mentioned that Damascus received information on the use of chemical weapons by militants in Khan al-Asal at Aleppo on March 19 and Syrian government appealed to the UN to ask for a thorough independent investigation of the incident in Khan Al-Asal.”
The Syrian government has requested the Secretary General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon to form a specialized and independent mission, which can study that terrorist groups are using chemical weapons against the civilian population.
Today, Ban Ki-moon said that the UN begins an investigation of an incident of possible use of chemical weapons in Syria.
