Australia qualify for World Cup final after beating India by 95 runs

SYDNEY: The mighty Australians beat India by 95 runs in the second semi-final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 played at the Sydney Cricket Stadium on Thursday.

While batting first, Australia made 328 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 50 overs. Steve Smith scored 105 runs while Aaron Finch remained the second top scorer with 81 runs.

In reply, India were all out at 233 runs in 46.5 overs. Only Indian Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni could manage to score a fifty before he was run out for 65 runs.

With the victory against the defending champions India at Sydney, four-time champions Australia will now take on New Zealand in the final of the mega event to be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on March 29.

Earlier in the first semi-final, New Zealand defeated South Africa by four wickets at the Eden Park in Auckland on Tuesday.
