Monitoring Desk: In the unfortunate event of crash of Germanwings A320 with 150 persons on-board, prosecutors have reasons to believe that Co-pilot Andreas Lubitz deliberately crashed the A320.

These allegations came out during the press conference conducted by Prosecutor Brice Robin who was of the view that sudden descent of the plane”, could “only be deliberate”.

“I repeat, when he was alone, in charge of the Airbus, the co-pilot started the flight monitoring system to get the plane to descend,” he said.

“The action on this altitude selector can only be voluntary, I repeat action on this altitude selector can only be deliberate.”

Flight Data and Black Box investigations indicated that Co-pilot left in sole control of the Airbus A320 after the captain left the cockpit and then co-pilot locked the door from inside therefore Pilot could not reenter the cockpit.

Prosecutor believed that Co-pilot was called several times to open the door but he never responded to such calls.

“He (Pilot) knocked on the door and there was no answer from the co-pilot either,” he said.

“One can then hear the noise of human breathing within the cockpit, and that human breathing noise can be heard until the final impact which means that theoretically the co-pilot was alive.

“Then, one hears contact also from the Marseille air traffic control tower, but no answer from the co-pilot, even though the Marseille control tower tried getting in touch with him several times. We can analyse it that the intention was to destroy this plane”, said  Robin.

Lufthansa released information about the co-pilot, Lubitz and maintained that he was on the job since September 2013 and had 630 hours of flying experience while the pilot of the plane had more 6,000 hours of experience flying the Airbus A320 model.
