ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has lodged a strong protest on killing of its citizens in South Africa and demanded an inquiry into the incident, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported on Thursday.

Five Pakistanis were killed in Cape Town in South Africa on Wednesday in a robbery attempt. Four of the deceased were from Chakwal and one from Sangla Hill, Pakistan Foreign Office said.

According to Foreign office spokesman Aziz Ahmed Chaudhry, Pakistan’s Mission in South Africa had taken up the matter with local authorities.

The spokesman said that the Mission was arranging shifting of dead bodies to Pakistan as soon as possible.
