Pakistan gives befitting reply to Indian firing at Sialkot’s Harpal Sector

RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The Indian border forces carried out an unprovoked firing in Harpal sector of Sialkot on Friday evening, according to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

In a statement, the ISPR said that Indian army started unprovoked firing. However, Pakistani Rangers retaliated to Indian firing in a befitting manner.

The incident occurred a day after the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel warned that any provocation along the Line of Control (LoC) and the Working Boundary would meet a befitting response.

“Let there be no doubt that any provocation along the Line of Control and Working Boundary will meet a befitting response,” the army chief said during his visit to the Sialkot Garrison and forward locations on the Working Boundary on Thursday.

The COAS said that repeated Indian cease fire violations on working boundary and the LoC, in the recent past were a distraction for Pakistan from its campaign against terrorism and adversely affected regional stability.
