ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) said on Tuesday that the final schedule for the forthcoming elections will be announced on March 23, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.

According to the ECP, the process of collecting nomination papers for the general elections will begin from March 25 and will continue till March 30. All the potential candidates, who wish to contest the elections, must submit their nomination papers by March 30.

The ECP stated that nomination papers of candidates will be scrutinized from 31 March till April 6. It said, from April 7, appeals against reservations raised on nomination papers will be filed while candidates can withdraw nomination papers by April 18.

The final list of candidates will be issued on April 19 which will be 22 days prior to the general elections being held. Candidates will be given 21 days form election campaigning.
