COAS assures full support to restore peace in Karachi

KARACHI, Pakistan: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif has said that all possible cooperation will be extended to civilian law enforcement agencies and authorities to restore peace in Karachi.

The army chief made these remarks during his visit to Rangers Headquarters after his arrival in Karachi on Monday.

During his visit, the COAS was given a briefing by Sindh Rangers Director General Major Bilal Akbar over the ongoing operation and Karachi’s prevailing security situation.

The COAS appreciated the performance of Rangers, police and intelligence agencies during the operation. He also assured the security agencies of all possible support from the military to ensure peace in the city.

PM Nawaz in Karachi to review law and order

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif arrived in Karachi today to preside over a meeting to review law and order situation in the city.

The Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah received the prime minister upon his arrival.
