ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu will arrive in Islamabad on February 17, his first ever visit to Pakistan since he took office in August last year.

During his two-day official visit, the Turkish prime minister will hold meetings with political and military leadership of Pakistan.

The Turkish prime minister will also lead his country in the Pakistan-Turkey strategic dialogue scheduled to be held in Islamabad on February 17.

“Mr Davutoglu will lead Turkey in the Pakistan-Turkey strategic dialogue, which will also take place on Feb 17 in Islamabad,” an official source told Dawn.

The source said that Ahmet Davutoglu will also hold talks with President Mamnoon Hussain who will later host a banquet in his honour.

On January 20, the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in a meeting with the Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq in Ankara reassured every possible support to Pakistan for making the country further strong.

Erdogan said that Turkey and Pakistan enjoy exemplary relations which are not affected by the change of governments. He said that initiatives undertaken by both the countries in the economic field are yielding positive results and would help further boost bilateral commercial ties.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 10th session of the Parliamentary Union of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation member states (PUIC) in Istanbul.
