Two policemen killed as DPO Khuzdar’s convoy attacked with rocket

QUETTA, Pakistan: At least two policemen were killed while another two injured when a convoy of district police officer (DPO) Khuzdar came under rocket attack in Gwadar district of restive Balochistan province on Saturday.

The sources said that a convoy of DPO Khuzdar Abdul Aziz Jhakrani was passing through the Pasni area to reach Gwadar to attend a marriage function there, but it was hit by a rocket coming from an unknown direction.

Resultantly, two police personnel escorting the DPO’s convoy were killed while two others sustained critical injuries.

The security and rescue teams arrived at the scene and shifted the victims to Basic Health Unit Pasni for medical treatment.

An investigation by the security forces into the incident also went underway.

Three terror suspects arrested in Quetta

Earlier in the day, the security forces arrested three suspected terrorists in Sariab area of Quetta during an operation.

The security officials said that the terrorists belonged to a banned terror organization.

The weapons and ammunitions were also recovered from the possession of suspects.
