Hyderabad: A day after a nurse was raped by a policeman at Pargi, local police on Monday took the accused into custody.
The accused cop, Srinivas, 30, confessed that he and the victim had been in a relationship.The Dispatch News Desk (DND) reports).

An altercation between them ended in rape he told the police. “When she asked him to marry her, he refused, leading to a quarrel between them,” an officer from Pargi police station said.

Meanwhile, the 20 year old victim, who was admitted in a hospital at Pargi with a head injury and other minor injuries, was discharged from the hospital.

The second accused, Anji, a friend of Srinivas, is still absconding. The victim in her complaint to the police alleging that Srinivas raped her and tried to kill her at a deserted place in Kalapur village. Based on the complaint, police have booked a case under Indian Penal Code section 376 for rape, 363 for kidnapping, and 307 for attempt to murder against Srinivas and his friend.
