Five policemen including two SHOs killed in Mirpurkhas clash

MIRPURKHAS, Pakistan: Two Station House Officers (SHOs) among five policemen were killed while eight police personnel sustained injuries in a clash with robbers in Mirpurkhas district of Sindh on Saturday morning.

The clash took place when police conducted a crackdown against criminals in Ali Talpur town situated in the Mehmoodabad area of Mirpurkhas.

During the exchange of fire, three robbers were also killed.

The Hyderabad Deputy Inspector General Dr Sanaullah Abbasi giving details of the incident said that police raiding party raided a house in the town of Ali Talpur. He said that the occupants of the house opened direct fire on the police party.

Resultantly, five police officials including SHO Market Wahid Bux Laghari, SHO Latifabad Hassan Abidi, police constables Anwar, Jameel and Dilbar were killed whereas eight policemen including SHO Mumtaz Birohi were also injured.

Dr Sanaullah Abbasi further said that three robbers including Chotu and Qurban, who were wanted and had a bounty on their heads for involvement in several of cases of dacoity and kidnapping for ransom, were killed by police personnel.
