Jakarta: The search operation to find missing AirAsia flight number QZ8501 has been resumed in the sea but authorities believe that ill-fated plane could be in the bottom of the sea.

The search operation was stopped at the evening of Sunday. Singapore and Australia are helping in search operation. Singapore sent its second military transport aircraft, C-130 Hercules, to help with the resumed Indonesian-led search operation. It may be mentioned that AirAsia flight number QZ8501 with 162 people including 155 passengers onboard lost its control with Air tower after taking “unusual route” on Sunday.

Search operation is being executed in six sectors of the sea as experts believe that plane has gone into bottom of the sea and would be easy to find soon.

National Search and Rescue Agency chief of Indonesia believes the missing Airbus is now most likely at the bottom of the sea.

“The last coordinates were in the sea so it is likely it is on the sea floor,” Chief Marshal Bambang Soelistyo told a press conference at Soekarno Hatta Airport in Jakarta.

A sonar system that can detect to a depth of up to 2,000 meters below water is being used in the search, he said.

The flight was due to land in Singapore at 8:30 a.m. local time (00:30 GMT) on Sunday and was listed as “delayed” for 3 hours then AirAsia confirmed the plane has gone missing in a statement when there was no contact from crew for next 3 hours.

An Emergency Call Center with the number +622129850801 was established for family and friends of those who may have been on board the flight. The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore said that services have been “activated” to help Indonesia search for the missing flight.

Year 2014 can be considered as worst year regarding air crashes as MH370 lost for ever in the sea along with all people on board while MH17 was crashed/shot down over eastern Ukraine.
