Army chief directs swift implementation of national action plan: ISPR

RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: A high level meeting was held with the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif in the chair at the army’s general headquarters in Rawalpindi on Thursday.

On his twitter account, the Director General Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asim Bajwa wrote that the meeting was held to review measures to be undertaken by the army and intelligence agencies as part of national action plan.

The DG ISPR said that during the meeting, the COAS reaffirmed his unequivocal resolve to root out terrorism from the country.

The COAS paid rich tribute to national political leadership for their spirit and unwavering resolve to rid Pakistan of the menace through reforms and administrative measures.  

 The army chief directed the army and intelligence agencies to ensure implementation of the national action plan to establish lasting peace in the country. 

The Chief of Army Staff hoped that in keeping with confidence and trust of the nation, we can transform this consensus into practical actions on ground.
