QUETTA, Pakistan: An explosion took place on Prince Road in Balochistan on Wednesday night, leaving at least two persons dead and more than 20 others injured, the rescue sources said.
Police said that the blast occurred near Liaquat Bazaar area on Prince Road where explosive material planted in a motorcycle parked outside the shop went off.
The blast left at least two persons dead while more than 20 others sustained injuries. Three shops, three vehicles and several bikes were also destroyed in the blast.
The security personnel reached the blast site and cordoned off the area.
The rescue officials shifted the injured persons to the Civil Hospital in Quetta where three persons were reportedly to be in critical condition.
The bomb disposal squad was dispatched to ascertain the nature of the explosion.
No person or group immediately claimed responsibility for the blast.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif strongly condemned the explosion and directed concerned authorities to provide the injured people best possible healthcare.
