ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) said on Saturday that the opposition would continue to stick to the names it had proposed for the slot of caretaker prime minister, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.
In a statement, PML-N Secretary Information Mushahidullah Khan said that the people proposed by the PML-N were highly capable and honest.
Mushahidullah said that fingers could be pointed at the personalities proposed by the government.
Earlier in the day, Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira said that the government had reservations over the names of Justice retired Nasir Aslam Zahid and Rasool Bakhsh Palejo proposed by the opposition for the slot of interim Prime Minister.
Talking to media persons in Islamabad, the federal minister said Justice Zahid would not be able to do justice with the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP)‚ as President Asif Ali Zardari was implicated in the murder of the former judge’s brother-in-law.
The minister also rejected Rasool Bux Palejo’s nomination as caretaker PM, saying Palejo’s son Latif Palejo was contesting against the PPP in Sindh.
