LONDON: Three British men pleaded guilty to terrorism charges at a London court on Friday, the accused also include a recent convert to Islam.
Richard Dart, 29, Imran Mahmood, 21, and Jahangir Alom, 26, were charged last year with engaging in preparation for acts of terrorism by travelling to Pakistan for training between July 2010 and July 2012 and by “advising and counselling” acts of terrorism by providing information about how to go to the country for the same purpose.
Details on the allegations were not disclosed at London’s Old Bailey court, where the men pleaded guilty in an appearance by video-link.
All three accused were taken into custody in July 2012, shortly before the Olympics amid intelligence that Dart and Alom wanted to use Mahmood’s contacts to return to Pakistan. They are expected be sentenced at the end of April.
