Blast near JUI-F rally in Quetta, two killed

QUETTA, Pakistan: At least two persons were killed while five others sustained injuries when a blast occurred near the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) rally held in honour of Mufti Mehmood at the Sadiq Shaheed stadium in Quetta on Thursday.

However, the JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman luckily remained safe in the blast, the party leader Hafiz Hussain Ahmed said.

Talking to media, the JUI-F Chief said that it was the suicide blast which targeted his vehicle as he was departing from the venue of the rally.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that he and his colleagues survived the attack as they were riding in a bomb-proof vehicle.
