QUETTA, Pakistan: An Election Tribunal in Balochistan has ordered re-election in NA-267 Jhal Magsi where Nawabzada Khalid Magsi, the younger brother of former Governor Nawab Zulfiqar Magsi, won during last year’s general elections.

The tribunal issued its orders on Friday after it found evidence of poll rigging in the constituency.

Khalid Magsi had won the seat of NA-267 as an independent candidate. However, another independent candidate Mir Abdul Rahim had challenged his election in the tribal, pleading that elections on several polling stations were rigged by Magsi’s supporters.

The election tribunal after conducting hearings found the elections were indeed rigged by Magsi’s supporters, and ordered the concerned authorities to ensure immediate re-election on the NA seat.
