RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The Pakistan Army has rescued 41,115 persons as of now, while 127.7 ton ration has been distributed during its relief operation, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Monday.
The ISPR said that rescue efforts continue in Uch Sharif, Muzaffargarh and Multan areas.
It said that since the start of its relief operation, 4,286 patients have been treated in 18 medical camps established by the army.
PAF continues rescue operation in flood affected areas
Separately, six helicopters of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) are carrying out rescue operations in flood affected areas in Punjab.
A press release issued by the PAF says that the helicopters have rescued hundreds of people stranded in low lying areas.
It says that more than 25,000 kilograms of dry ration including flour, rice, pulses, dates, biscuits and mineral water have also been distributed among the flood affected people through these helicopters.
A crisis control cell has been established at Air Headquarters Islamabad to monitor the rescue activities.
