The opposition Leader in Punjab assembly Mian Mehmoodur Rashid on Wednesday handed over resignation letters of 28 MPAs of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to the assembly secretariat in the Punjab assembly building.

LAHORE, Pakistan: The opposition leader in the Punjab assembly Mian Mehmoodur Rashid on Wednesday handed over resignation letters of 28 MPAs of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to the assembly secretariat in the Punjab assembly building.

The sources said that several PTI provincial lawmakers accompanied him to the assembly secretariat.

On August 18, the PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi told a press conference that his party had decided to resign from the national assembly and three provincial assemblies. However, he said, that the party had not yet taken any decision regarding resignations from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly.

The PTI has already submitted resignations of its lawmakers in the National assembly secretariat.
