ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The federal minister for interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that the federal government is prepared to accept most of the demands of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT).

In a press conference held in Islamabad on Friday, the interior minister said that the other side has expressed willingness for talks which is a positive indication, adding that the next 48 hours are crucial in this regard.

The minister emphatically stated that the government would not allow protestors to attack state institutions.

The interior minister said that over 30,000 personnel of police, FC, Rangers and Pakistan army were fully capable to prevent entry into Red Zone but the government demonstrated flexible attitude for the sake of safety of the people.

Nisar said that advance of the protestors to Red Zone should not be construed as weakness of the law-enforcing agencies.

There are serious security threats to marchers

The federal interior minister also revealed that as per alerts given by the head of the elite military intelligence agency, there are serious security threats to marchers. He said there are intelligence reports that two suicide bombers and a loaded vehicle have left for Islamabad.

Chaudhry Nisar said that he is sending senior officials of his ministry to the leadership of the PTI to inform them of the threats and enlist their cooperation for ensuring security of the marchers.

The minister said that if the PTI Chairman Imran Khan still insisted on removal of containers then some of them would be removed after written undertaking by Imran Khan and the PAT leader Dr Tahirul Qadri themselves they would themselves would be responsible if any terrorist incident takes place.
