PTI plan to enter Red Zone: Pakistan army put on 'high alert' in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: As the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activists led by party Chairman Imran Khan plan to enter into Red Zone on Tuesday evening, the Pakistan army has reportedly put its troops in Islamabad on ‘high alert’ in case of any untoward incident takes place.

The Pakistan army has been controlling the federal capital’s security since August 1 for three months under article 245.

The media reports said that Corps Lieutenant General Qamar Bajwa and 10 other corps commanders have contacted top officials of the Islamabad police for coordination to ensure security of the key government installations located along with constitution avenue declared as red zone by the federal interior ministry.
