Islamabad: Cell phone services banned in Islamabad. Mobile phone service has been suspended in Islamabad and Rawalpindi in connection with Azadi March of Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf (PTI).

Cell phone services banned in Islamabad

Interior Minister Ch Nisar said no one would be allowed to spread hatred, bloodshed in the country.  There is possibility of suspension of internet service in some parts of Islamabad for security reasons during Azadi March and on whole day of August 14.  The capital city administration had ordered the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to suspend cellular phone service in the federal capital.

According to Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) sources, interior ministry has issued directions to suspend mobile phone and wireless services in some parts of the country including Islamabad and Rawalpindi/ This suspension can continue for two to three days. Sources said that internet and cellphone signal will remain erratic for two days as wireless system will remain on Off and On mode.
