he Lumia Windows Phone 8 range of devices will receive the Lumia Cyan software, which is the new Windows Phone 8.1 update. The Lumia Cyan upgrade comes loaded with better features that will surely amplify your experience on your Lumia device.

 

If you were craving to have more of your favourite apps on the home screen, your wait is finally over. With the Lumia Cyan update, add a customized third column full of your favourite apps. An Action Center can be dragged with one swipe from the top, which acts as a mini dashboard to make your Lumia experience even faster. The Action Center helps you customize your settings and gives you app notifications, Wi-Fi status and Flight mode.

 

With Wi-Fi Sense, users can now hook onto free Wi-Fi hotspots around the world, thus being connected wherever they go. Lumia Cyan also debuts Word Flow, the most intuitive smartphone keyboard out there. Just by gliding your fingers over the letters, Word Flow will predict the most frequently used expressions and also correct them as you type.

 

image014Apart from all these amazing new additions, Microsoft is also introducing a virtual personal assistant through the Lumia Cyan update named Cortana. She tracks what you care about, helps you become more productive and gets even better at her job the more she learns about you.

 

The new Device Search feature helps you find specific emails, contacts, appointments and other things on your phone. An updated Internet Explorer 11 gives you a fast and intuitive browser experience.

 

The Lumia Cyan update will also improve the already powerful Nokia Camera, Creative Studio and Storyteller apps. Nokia Camera gets a simplified user interface with one-tap access to edit and share pictures, and full-resolution zooming, re-framing and Creative Studio 6 (CS6) are available directly from the renewed Camera Roll.

 

The Lumia Cyan update will start rolling out around the world today and will be available for all Windows Phone 8 Lumia devices in the coming weeks.
