ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said on Tuesday that the decision to launch the military operation ‘Zarb-e-Azb’ against the militants in the North Waziristan tribal region was taken after reviewing all the aspects and now it is continuing with full force.
The prime minister made these remarks in a meeting with Air Chief Marshal Muhammad Tahir Rafique Butt who called on him at the Prime Minister House in Islamabad on Tuesday.
During the meeting, the professional matters of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) were discussed. The prime minister appreciated the role of the PAF in defense of the country.
Sharif said that all the local and foreign militants will be eliminated during the ongoing military operation without any discrimination. The armed forces will totally destroy the sanctuaries of militants.
The premier said that writ of the state will be established in the tribal areas. He said that the government will start a new era of development in the area after the successful completion of Zarb-e-Azb operation.
