ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain has given the approval for appointment of Justice Nasirul Mulk as the new Chief Justice of Pakistan.

The incumbent Chief Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani will retire on July 5 after a seven-month term as the country’s top judge.

The oath taking ceremony for the new chief justice will be held on July 6 at the President House, in which the newly appointed the Chief Justice Nasirul Mulk will take oath from the president. Justice Mulk is the senior most judge in the supreme court after current Chief Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani.

The summery for the appointment of the new chief Justice was sent by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to the president recently.
