ISLAMABAD: The Pakistani military on Friday assured the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) that it would provide all possible support to ensure peaceful environment for the upcoming elections, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

A press release issued by ISPR, stated that the assurance was held out by the Director General Military Operations during his meeting with the visiting Secretary ECP Ishtiaq Ahmed at Military Operations Directorate, General Headquarters on Friday.

“Army authorities assured all possible support to ECP to ensure peaceful environment for the elections,” the statement said, adding more details of sensitive areas / polling stations will be worked out by the ECP and shared in next meeting scheduled after announcement of election dates.
