ABUJA: Pakistan and Nigeria are considering the signing of an economic cooperation agreement, President Mamnoon Hussain said while addressing the Pakistan-Nigeria Business Forum in Abuja.

The president said that Pakistan offers promising opportunities to the Nigerian businessmen in diverse fields including energy, infrastructure, railways and telecommunication sectors.

Mamnoon Hussain urged the business communities of the two countries to work together to translate efforts made by governments into substantial and lasting gains for economic development.

On the occasion, the Nigerian President Dr Goodluck Jonathan said that he encourages Pakistani investors to Nigeria to make advantage of their huge investment opportunities.

Jonathan said that the two sides must take the issue of their development in their own hands and grow their economies to reduce poverty and create jobs for their growing populations.
