Ex-PM Pervez Ashraf, Shaukat Tareen indicted in RPP scam case

ISLAMABAD: An accountability court in Islamabad on Tuesday indicted former prime minister Raja Pervez Ashraf and 11 others in the Rs22 billion Rental Power Projects (RPP) scam case.

Those who were indicted by the accountability court judge Muhammad Bashir also included former finance minister Shaukat Tareen, former federal secretaries Ismail Qureshi and Shahid Rafi.

The former prime minister was not present in the court during proceedings and charges against him were read to his lawyer.

Later, the court adjourned the hearing to June 20 and directed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to provide evidence and witnesses against the indicted.
