Pakistan seeks to enhance parliamentary exchanges with Sweden

ISLAMABAD: A high level delegation of Swedish parliament led by Speaker of the Parliament Per Westerberg called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at the PM house in Islamabad on Monday.

During the meeting, the prime minister stressed the need to have regular parliamentary exchanges and sharing experiences between Pakistan and Swedish Parliamentarians to boost bilateral relations.

The prime minister said that both the countries can cultivate bilateral relationships as well as in the context of European Union by collaboration in education and economic sectors.

Sharif also commended the consistent support of Sweden to Pakistan’s quest for the Generalised System of Preferences (GSP) Plus status. He said that the GSP plus Scheme would help Pakistan to overcome its economic difficulties and will generate job opportunities.

Moreover, the prime minister also emphasized the partnership between the Pakistan and Swedish cultural institutions to forge cultural linkages between the two countries.
