COAS leaves for Kabul to hold meetings with Afghan military, ISAF commanders

RAWALPINDI: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif left for Kabul on Monday on a day-long visit to Afghanistan to hold important meetings with Afghan military and the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) commanders.

During his visit, the COAS will represent Pakistan in the trilateral meeting in Kabul with Afghan Chief of Army Staff General Sher Muhammad Karimi and International Security Assistance Force Commander General Joseph Dunford.

“The tripartite meeting is aimed at discussing cooperation in security and in fighting terrorism,” the Afghan defence ministry said in a statement.
