Pakistan, US discuss bilateral relations, regional peace

WASHINGTON: The Pakistani ambassador to the US Jalil Abbas Jilani held a meeting with the Senate Majority Leader Senator Harry Reid at the Capitol Hill in Washington and discussed the key bilateral relationship as well the issues of peace and stability in the region in the wake of US drawdown from Afghanistan.

During the meeting, the ambassador briefed the US Senator on the recent developments in Pak-US relationship including the various high level visits from both sides.

The Pakistani envoy also apprised him of the specific measures undertaken by the government to achieve fiscal stability, economic development and improve internal security.

The Senate leader congratulated the ambassador Jilani on peaceful democratic transition and the positive steps taken by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to revive the economy and improve law and order situation.
