MINGORA: The head of anti-Taliban peace committee in Manglawar village in Swat was shot dead and his colleague sustained serious injuries when gunmen wearing masks opened fire on them on Tuesday, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported on 18 December, 2012.
According to police sources, Sardar Alam, the head of peace committee in Salande area of Minglawar, succumbed to his injuries when being shifted to the Saidu Sharif Hospital. The sources added that Sardar Alam had sustained bullets wounds to his head.
The Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan claimed responsibility for the attack.The Taliban spokesman Ihsanullah Ihsan said they had killed Sardar Alam for his anti-Taliban activities in Swat.
