16 injured in Risalpur grenade attack

NOWSHERA: Six soldiers among 16 others were injured in a hand-grenade attack outside a recruitment centre in the Risalpur Cantonment on Tuesday, the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the attack, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported on 18 December, 2012.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Risalpur Cantonment Riaz Khan said two unknown armed motorcyclists threw hand-grenades at the Gate No-III of the Engineers’ Centre in Risalpur Cantonment on the Nowshera-Mardan road at 11am. Resultantly, sixteen people including six soldiers were injured, he said.

“The attack was carried out at a time when soldiers were busy preparing the entry passes for the candidates at the gate,” he said.
