Nawaz, Cameron discuss bilateral relations, regional issues

LONDON: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who is on a three-day official visit to the United Kingdom, on Wednesday held a meeting with his British counterpart David Cameron in London and discussed matters of bilateral interest, the regional situation as well as other issues of international importance.

During the meeting, Sharif reiterated that Pakistan is fully committed to eliminate menace of terrorism from its soil and will never allow use of its territory against any country including Afghanistan.

The prime minister said that Pakistan has suffered a lot due to terrorism and extremism, and is determined to tackle the menace under its newly formulated national security policy.

Sharif appreciated the continued support and assistance by the DFID UK to Pakistan for different development projects.

The British prime minister said that Pakistan’s progress is in the best interest of the entire world. He said that every possible support will be extended for elimination of terrorism from Pakistan.

Cameron said that his country will enhance cooperation with Pakistan in difference fields including trade and energy.

Earlier, on his arrival at the 10-Downing Street, David Cameron warmly welcomed the Pakistani prime minister.
