Direct govt-Taliban talks likely in two days: Yousaf Shah

ISLAMABAD: The coordinator Taliban negotiating team Maulana Yousaf Shah said on Saturday that a meeting with the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Shura is likely to take place in next two days.

Maulana Yousaf said that during the meeting, extension of ceasefire, exchange of prisoners and other issues would be discussed.

Meanwhile, Professor Ibrahim Khan, another member of the TTP-nominated committee, said that still the government has not provided the list of prisoners which it released.

Professor Ibrahim said that it is not clear that in whose custody former premier Yousuf Raza Gilani’s son Ali Haider Gilani is. He said that if Ali Haider Gilani is in the Taliban’s captivity, then a demand should be made for his release.
