3G, 4G spectrum auction concludes: Zong, Mobilink, Ufone and Telenor win bidding

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) on Wednesday announced auction results of 3G and 4G licenses in Islamabad, according to which the cellular operator Zong was declared as the winner of 10 MHz spectrum in 2100 MHz radio frequency band in the auction.

Zong also got 10 MHs segment in 1800 MHz frequency. Mobilink got 10 MHz segment in 2100 MHz frequency band.

Ufone and Telenor got 5 MHz segments in 2100 MHz frequency. One 10 MHz segment in 1800 MHz band would be sold separately.

Talking to newsmen after conclusion of the bidding, the Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said that in all offers worth Rs 1.128 including that of one segment of 1800 MHz frequency band was received.

The finance minister said that the government has with it one more segment in 1800 MHz band and one license reserved for new entrants, which would fetch additional income.
