EntertainmentOverload bags best band trophy at HUM awards 2014

KARACHI: Overload is on a roll! Just a few days after returning from their incredibly successful Indian tour, Overload has been honored with the prestigious Best Band Trophy for their chartbuster Jeet at the prestigious Servis 2nd HUM Awards.

The band faced good competition from other nominated contenders which included Jal, SYMT and The Sketches. However, in the end it was Overload which was rewarded and acknowledged for all the band’s hard work and for churning out such great music. The band’s front man Farhad Humayun was there to collect the award on behalf of the band. He received it from musician and producer Immu along with actress Gia Ali.

Feeling excited and humbled by the award, Farhad said “Congratulations Sheraz Siddiq, the brain, and Nasir Sain, the power. Thanks to Mr Muhammad Tahir for the awesome lyrics, thanks to Ustad Jaffer for the brass band input and Umair Nadeem for guitar playing that bites you in the as*! Thank you Ami and my sisters and their kids. Thanks to the entire Overload team that manages the back end – the accountants, lawyers, the PR agency Pitch Media-Inc, Naeem, Tariq Mehmood and Sher Khan … most of all the fans who are out there listening and watching!”

The awards event was held at Expo Centre Karachi on 29th March, 2014. Superstars, top-models and socialites were in attendance of this lavish event.

It is for the first time that Overload has won at the HUM Awards. Earlier, they have won the ‘Best Live Act Award’ at the Lux Style Awards in 2006 and Dhamaal was nominated for the ‘Best Music Video’ at the Lux Style Awards 2008.
