Rasheed says govt to ensure security of journalists

ISLAMABAD: The federal minister for information Pervaiz Rasheed said on Saturday that the government is making all out efforts to ensure the safety and security of journalists.

His statement came a day after senior journalist and anchor person of a private TV channel Raza Rumi was injured in an attack along with his guard while his driver lost his life when unknown persons opened fire at his vehicle near Raja Market in Lahore.

In an interview, the information minister strongly condemned the attack on Raza Rumi in Lahore and said that the government is making all out efforts to ensure the safety and security of journalists.

The minister stressed the need for forging unity to eliminate terrorism. He said that the people should join hands with the government to foil nefarious designs of the terrorists.
