United Nations General Assembly resolution 68/39 that was a non-binding resolution symbolic adopted on 27 March 2014 with 100 nations voting in favor, indicates that Russia has strong influence over all Central Asian states as no CAS except Azerbaijan voted in favour of this US sponsored resolution that affirms the territorial integrity and political independence of Ukraine and declares invalid Crimea’s referendum on acceding to the Russian Federation.  While two US known friends—Pakistan and Afghanistan abstained from voting while superpower China and emerging superpower India kept themselves away from this US-EU move. Interestingly Israel and United Arab Emirates (UAE) were absent from voting.
