PESHAWAR: At least nine persons including women, children and members of local peace committee were killed in firing by militants in Mashukhel area of Peshawar on Wednesday morning, police sources said.
The sources said that over 20 militants entered the house of a policeman named Zafar and attacked the people by opening fire and hurling hand grenades on them.
Resultantly, at least nine people lost their lives in the assault.
The unidentified attackers managed to escape from the spot after an encounter with police, while the dead bodies were shifted to Khyber Teaching Hospital.
