Karachi violence: thirteen more killed

KARACHI: A leader of the Majlis-e-Wahdatul Muslemeen (MWM) and a worker of the Sunni Tehreek (ST) among thirteen others were killed in separate incidents in of violence in the metropolis on Tuesday, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported on 06 November, 2012.

According to police officials, the deputy secretary general of MWM and also a former leader of the Jafferia Alliance was shot dead on Tuesday morning when two armed men riding a motorcycle opened fire on him near the Shahbuddin Market, Saddar Parking Plaza. While an activist of ST was also gunned down at the same spot.

Sindh Rangers spokesman told Dispatch News Desk (DND) that a few miscreants resorted to violence and created a law and order situation at Dak Khana Chowk, Liaquatabad No-10, near Super Market during the funeral procession of slain Allama Aftab Haider Jafri of Majlis Wahdatul Muslimeen. In the result of cross firing between the miscreants and rangers, several persons were killed and injured.

In a separate incident, a person was gunned down in New Town police station limits outside his shop. The deceased received five bullet wounds on his upper torso. Separately, in the limits of Kalri police station, armed men gunned down Faizullah and Imran on Tuesday night near the KPT flats when they were busy in drinking liquor.

Likewise, in Gulberg area, three tortured and bullet-riddled bodies were found on Tuesday morning.  Meanwhile, an employee of KGL Factory was gunned down in Quaidabad when he was on his way home. In another incident, one more person was shot dead near Timber Market, Awami Colony.
